This is a renovation/addition to a small contemporary home that had been recently renovated. We added a 2 car garage, expanded the living areas on the main level and added a master-suite on the second floor as well as a pool house behind the home.

The garage was located 7’ below the main house level at the front of the house. This created the opportunity for some exciting architecture: the main level of the house has a split level. The library/tv area is elevated 3’ above the main level to accommodate the garage below. The living room, dining room and kitchen feature 11’ ceilings. The library/tv area has 18’ ceilings and features a floating tread staircase going to the master-suite above and cabinetry that contains an office.

The kitchen is completely new, with high end Italian cabinets and top of the line appliances. It looks out onto a dining area and a living room featuring a 20’ long sitting ledge with a fireplace. Instead of guardrails for the stairs going down to the garage and the up to the split level, cabinetry has been designed for extra storage and as a barrier between the living are and the stairs.

The master-suite features a sun-drenched master-bathroom with top of the line appliances, custom cabinetry and etched glass shower and toilet enclosure for maximum light coupled with privacy. The master-bedroom has large windows overlooking the pool and a glass door opening to a roof-top deck. A large walk-in-closet and a laundry room are also located on this floor, as well as a clerestory area with 12’ ceilings which allows sunlight to penetrate deep into the house

The pool house has a long bar area with sliding windows that open to the pool with covered seating at the bar. It contains a bathroom and laundry area as well as a large living area and a smaller room that functions as an additional guest-room.
The house is warmed and cooled by a geo-thermal system. All lights are LED and integrated into a whole house automation system.
