The day to day activities of a growing family helped to shape the design and flow of the home in lieu of focusing solely on architectural statement. The architect embraced the challenging “L” shaped lot to define the layout and planning of the home. The footprint of the home replicates the lot shape with a juxtaposed front entry to texture the facade and give the entrance a well deserved focal point.
The home features a lower level two car garage and a large open family room where the use of rustic beams and paneling help warm the interior. A see through fireplace helps define the dining area which includes a built-in banquet and direct connection to the kitchen. The kitchen is open to both the dining and outdoor living area and boasts an abundance of light and functionality.
The outdoor living area is enclosed as a screen porch and directly accessible to the rear yard and play area. The joint mudroom / pantry was designed to be easily accessed as you pass through on your way to the kitchen when entering from the lower level. The family truly loves how functional their home is while still being able to enjoy a clean modern design.
