Design is Human
Randolph makes the most of its’ small lot in the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood. 2015 MA Architecture Tour.

Architecture: West Architecture Studio

Sq Ft: 2700
General Contractor: Post + Beam Builders

Given the budget limitations of spec building, the goal was to show that a simple, yet elegant architecture can be achieved with particular emphasis on richness of interior material palette as opposed to an overly cutting edge exterior. The primary challenge and driving force with the design was the unusually narrow 25’ lot dimension which meant a resulting home that could only be a maximum of 18’ in width.

In this home, as with most West Architecture Studio projects, there is an emphasis on careful consideration and integration of landscape design and elements. The rear yard space is small at only 25’x25’ but makes the most of its’ size.
